CBD Hemp Oil Benefits for Arthritis
Arthritis is a chronic inflammatory condition marked by symptoms like joint pain and joint stiffness. Current medical treatments for arthritis offer relief for many patients, while others have continued symptoms and concerns about long-term treatment risks. For many of those people, CBD oil is an increasingly popular alternative option.
What Is CBD Hemp Oil?
Hemp is a variety of Cannabis sativa plant that is grown for many industrial and commercial uses. Hemp oil is a product derived from this plant’s extract, which contains potentially beneficial compounds and cannabinoids like cannabidiol (CBD). When applied or ingested, these compounds interact with our body’s own endocannabinoid system to create a variety of health-supporting positive effects.
People use CBD hemp oil for knee pain, hip pain, joints stiffness and other common arthritis symptoms. It is also common to use CBD for arthritis in seniors.
Is Hemp Oil Legal? Can It Make You High?
According to the law, hemp and hemp derivatives are legal for sale so long as they contain no more than 0.3% THC. However, they may still be subject to state, federal and local laws regarding their use. Make sure you know what the CBD oil laws are in your area.
Hemp oil can have a variety of physical effects, but it cannot actually make you high. Since the law only allows trace amounts of THC, there isn’t enough of this psychoactive ingredient to have a psychoactive effect.
All Reclaim Labs products are regularly tested by a third-party lab to ensure that they meet legal standards and are safe for use. If you have questions, we are happy to provide certificates of analysis (COA) by request.
The Many Potential Benefits of CBD Oil for Arthritis
Those who use CBD hemp oil for their arthritis consistently report a number of benefits. Each individual’s experience with CBD hemp oil is unique, and the effects you see will vary in type and intensity.
Some of the possible benefits of CBD for arthritis include:
- Pain relief. Whether applied topically or ingested, CBD products have been praised for their ability to reduce pain locally and systemically, throughout the body.
- Anti-inflammatory effects. Joint inflammation is the hallmark of arthritis, and both anecdotal evidence and research suggest that CBD may be able to help. A 2015 study concluded that topically applied CBD can reduce inflammation of joints in arthritic rats, without notable side effects.¹ Another study in 2020 found that CBD may reduce arthritis inflammation by targeting specific inflammatory cell types.²
- Stress relief and relaxation. CBD oil offers a calming sensation of full-body relaxation. This may help ease overall stress and tension, both of which can exacerbate arthritis symptoms.
- Safe, nature-based results. Unlike harsh medications that can be addictive or damaging with prolonged use, CBD oil is a natural product that research suggests is well tolerated and has few side effects.³
The FDA has not reviewed the medical aspects of cannabis oil treatment for arthritis, and our products are not meant to treat or prevent any condition. Based on the existing studies and personal stories of those who use it, however, we strongly believe it can help ease symptoms. If you’re looking for natural relief that can complement medical treatment, we invite you to give our carefully formulated products a try.
Our Founder’s Personal Arthritis Journey
Over the years, Ron tried a variety of standard arthritis treatments and medications. Unfortunately, none seemed to be effective. Many of the medications also had harsh side effects and posed worrisome long-term health risks. Potent steroids pose serious risks of dependency and damage, which is why they’re usually prescribed for a short time. For arthritis sufferers, however, steroid medications may be a long-term treatment by necessity.
Wanting to find relief without all these side effects and risks, Ron began learning about the human endocannabinoid system. He threw himself into his study, exploring how the naturally occurring chemicals in hemp can work together in the body. With his newfound knowledge and a healthy amount of trial and error, Ron eventually discovered the hemp extract formulation that would change his life.
After 23 years of steroid use, Ron had found a simple, natural product that gave him the relief he desired without the risks. He was eventually able to transition away from steroid medications completely, and he continues to successfully manage his symptoms with his unique CBD oil formula. Through Reclaim Labs, Ron is making this formula available to all at an affordable price.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re unsure whether CBD hemp oil is right for you, the following answers to frequently asked questions might help give you some clarity. If you have other questions that aren’t answered here, please feel free to contact us.
What Is Hemp?
Hemp is a legal variety of Cannabis sativa that is commonly grown for industrial purposes. Unlike other types of cannabis plants, the hemp variety is specifically bred to have negligible amounts of any psychoactive chemicals. In fact, it is only legally defined as hemp if it contains less than 0.3% THC.
In addition to its potent natural extracts, hemp is also harvested for its fiber. Hemp fiber has long been used to produce paper, fabrics and other textiles.
Will CBD Hemp Oil Get Me High?
In the United States, cannabis derivatives are only legal for sale as hemp products if they contain less than 0.3% THC. Because CBD oil meets this standard by definition, it does not produce the psychoactive high of marijuana or other cannabis derivatives. You may experience a feeling of overall relaxation and calm, but this will not impair your abilities like being high would.
Does CBD Help With Arthritis?
The FDA hasn’t evaluated hemp oil as a treatment, and we don’t offer medical advice in that regard. What we can say, however, is that our founder and our customers continue to report success in using hemp oil for hip pain, joint stiffness and more.
Regardless of how CBD may (or may not) affect the underlying condition itself, our carefully formulated hemp extract products can help improve quality of life. Hemp oil offers potential benefits like pain relief and full-body relaxation, both of which are invaluable for arthritis sufferers.
I’m Not Sure How to Use CBD for Arthritis. What Do I Do?
We offer two main types of hemp oil products that are easy to use, even for beginners. One method is to apply a small amount of topical gel to the area of your pain and rub it gently into the skin. Our CBD hemp oil roll-on stick makes application easy, with no squeezing or twisting.
Another option is to add a food-grade CBD broad-spectrum hemp extract oil or a THC-free CBD hemp extract oil to your diet as a daily supplement. Simply use the dropper to add an appropriate amount of extract to food or drink and enjoy your meals as usual. For even better absorption, use the provided dropper to place oil sublingually.
CBD is safe for regular and long-term use, but you may want to talk to your doctor before adding it to your regimen (especially if you’re on any medications or have other major medical concerns).
What’s the Difference Between Full-Spectrum and Broad-Spectrum Extracts?
A full-spectrum extract contains all of the naturally occurring compounds in the hemp plant (cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids) including the THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) cannabinoid. This is the psychoactive cannabinoid, the one that will cause that feeling of high if consumed in portions large enough.
For those who prefer to avoid THC altogether, but still enjoy the benefits of all other naturally occurring compounds in the hemp plant, the broad-spectrum extract is your answer. It includes all of the hemp plant original compounds but underwent another filtration step to completely extract the THC molecules. Our broad-spectrum formula is especially ideal for those who would prefer to avoid even trace amounts of THC in their CBD oil.
Unlike with CBD isolate, the combination of all those natural compounds in the plant can potentially create what is known as the entourage effect in the body. This is the result of all compounds working together to produce various health-supporting positive effects, like that strong anti-inflammatory effect.
